Flag Down Loose Ball push (time serving)? April 22, 2019 World Games 2014 0 Forum Questions In previous forum, I believe Question #9, A1 is slashed by B1, flag down, A1 loses ball and ball is loose. B2 pushes A2. Rule 7 Section 8 says that whistle should be blown upon second foul unless scoring play is imminent. B1 serves 1 minute for slashing and B2 serves 30 second for pushing . The answer given on #9 said that B2 doesn't serve 30 seconds. Please clarify as the 2019 rulebook clearly states that B2 would serve 30 seconds for pushing. Talked to many different refs on this issue and I think there is still confusion Question File Add new DuBan's Answer: Visual Text Kratz's Answer: Visual Text McCarrick's Answer: Visual Text Riti's Answer: Visual Text This scenario is different than the one posed in the earlier forum question. The earlier question indicated that an A player committed a loose ball technical foul while there was a flag down slow whistle on B. That results in an immediate whistle. Team A does not serve any penalty time for their loose ball technical foul, but would serve time had they committed a personal foul. (See Simultaneous Fouls.) As stated in the current question, since both fouls were on Team B players, the second foul would have ended the slow whistle and both fouls are assessed against the applicable B players. Rule 6.1 Exception - 2. During a slow whistle, a loose-ball technical foul committed by the defensive team shall result in a time-serving penalty. Rule 7.6 Art 2 - ART. 2 . . . During a slow whistle or play-on, any foul committed by the team in possession (or entitled to possession) shall result in an immediate immediate whistle. ART. 3 . . . Penalty time: a. If there is no play-on or flag down in effect and if all fouls are technical, the fouls cancel. b. If the team in possession (or entitled to possession) commits: 1. Only technical fouls, no penalty time will be served by that team. 2. Any personal foul, all players involved will serve penalty time. Tyma's Answer: Visual Text Answer File Question Answered Yes No
