What if we miss a big hit that injures a player? Are we covered legally if we are sued if we worked as a single official? What if a fight breaks out? Can one official freeze the benches, take numbers of anyone leaving the bench, etc? Just because the game til this point did not have a lot of acrimony doesn't mean it won't later in the game. Unless our legal counsel opines otherwise, I think we need to stop the game and have the continuation of the game at a time where two officials can be re-scheduled.
