Fees, Assignments & Liability Coverage:

You will be notified if you are accepted into the NJILOA Cadet Training Program. At that time, you will be directed to the NJILOA payment page where you will need to pay the Cadet fee of $125.00 (non-refundable). The NJILOA Cadet Training Program is a 2 year commitment and this fee includes your FIRST year NJILOA dues. You will also be responsible for registering with the NJSIAA as a cadet which will cost $70. This is non-refundable.

Upon successful completion of our Cadet training, you will be registered with both the NJILOA and the NJSIAA. As a certified high school lacrosse official, you will be eligible for game assignments as well as general liability insurance for all interscholastic games worked. Cadets are expected to work sub-varsity games for the first two years before receiving varsity assignments.

Additionally, all NJILOA Cadets are required to work at least 5 interscholastic assignments, attend a minimum of 2 on-field train sessions, attend a minimum of 2 Regular Season Meetings and pass a closed-book examination, provide a physician’s letter verifying physical fitness, complete the NFHS Concussion Certification and finally, must complete/pass a basic criminal background check (as required by the NJSIAA) in order to become an active official in good standing within the organization.

Health and Eligibility Statement:

By way of signature, I affirm the following:

• My physical health will allow me to officiate lacrosse games requiring strenuous activity.
• I am at least 18 years of age and out of high school.
• I certify that I do not have any criminal history or felony indictments involving illegal drugs or sexual offenses and will agree to have a criminal background check performed.
• I am interested in officiating high school boys’ lacrosse and will be available during the spring season to officiate interscholastic boys’ lacrosse games.
• I am NOT a coach, player or parent only interested in officiating junior and club lacrosse games.
• I understand that I am required to pay dues, accept/work at least 5 NJILOA assignments and attend the required number of meetings/training clinics in order to remain an active official in good standing within the organization each year.
